Cullen & Co is a small, dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and a Speech Pathologist servicing the Newcastle region.

Our OTs support age 16+ and Jamie our Speech Pathologist works with ages 3-25. We are experienced in complex, psychosocial, and developmental needs, delivering client-centred, high-quality services that place each individual and their goals at the heart of everything we do.

Our team tailors therapy to meet meaningful goals, build functional skills, and promote independence across everyday environments.

Cullen & Co goes beyond traditional therapy by blending mental health support with practical, real-world strategies — helping our participants communicate, participate, and thrive in ways that genuinely improve daily life.

We provide services to plan, self and NDIS managed participants.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Occupational Therapists help people build skills and supports to participate more independently in everyday life. This may include developing routines, improving daily living skills, supporting community access, recommending assistive technology, and working towards personal goals identified in an NDIS plan.

  • You might benefit from a Mental Health OT if you’re finding it hard to keep up with daily life because of things like anxiety, depression, overwhelm, or difficulties with focus and organisation. OTs help you build routines, break tasks into manageable steps, and develop strategies so you can participate in the things that matter to you.

  • We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.

  • We work predominately with NDIS participants. For funding allocations, your Support Coordinator can assist in making the referral, however, this can be done by anyone involved with consent. If you’re unsure, feel free to get in touch and we can help guide you through the process!

  • We follow the NDIS price guide of $193.99 per hour. We ensure this is all set out in our service agreement and provide a copy to you to refer to at any time.

  • Your first appointment usually focuses on getting to know you and understanding your goals. We’ll talk about the activities that are important in your life and what challenges you may be experiencing.

Together, we will identify areas you would like support with and begin developing practical strategies. This might include building routines, improving organisation and time management, developing coping strategies, or working on skills that support participation in study, work, or daily life.

Occupational therapy is collaborative, meaning we work alongside you to develop strategies that are realistic, practical, and tailored to your needs.

We aim for appointments to be non-clinical and more a friendly chat!

  • Speech Pathologists support people who have difficulties with communication, language, speech, or swallowing. This can include challenges with understanding or expressing language, speaking clearly, social communication, or using alternative ways to communicate.

Speech therapy focuses on building skills and strategies that help people communicate more effectively in everyday life, such as at home, in education, at work, and in the community.

  • Someone may benefit from speech therapy if they have difficulty understanding language, expressing their thoughts, speaking clearly, or communicating with others. Speech Pathologists can also support people with social communication, literacy, voice difficulties, or swallowing concerns.

Therapy focuses on developing skills and strategies that improve communication, confidence, and participation in everyday activities.

At Cullen & Co, we genuinely care about our roles in your life.
